Levels and leveling up

One of the goals of this game like so many others is to level up your character. When you level up you will get access to more features in the game. It decides which maps you can access for example and at higher levels you will also get access to more quests.

To level up you need to gain experience points, short EP. One way to gain experience points is to fight with other ships. You can fight with both the alien NPCs as well as with other players, fighting with other players being the most fun in my opinion. How do I get honor in Dark Orbit?

You get honor in Dark Orbit by killing alien NPC ships as well as killing ships of other players. Make sure however when killing other players that you are not killing players from your own company. Drones Flax and Iris

Flax and Iris are the two drones you can buy in Dark Orbit. Your drones will circle your ship and defend you depending on which way you have equipped them. Uridium

Uridium is kind of like the money of the game, and you’d like to get as much uridium as possible. You need the Uridium for repairing your ship if it’s completely destroyed, like I mentioned in the repair bot article. You also need uridium if you want to buy the elite equipment in the game, like better ships, generators weapons and ammunition. Oh well, now to where to get the uridium.
One way to get uridium is by shooting down enemies, I love doing that. Several quests also gives you uridium as a reward. The standard way to get uridium is probably picking up the bonus crates, you find them both on regular maps and on the battle maps. You can also buy uridium, just check out the credits menu on the website. Good luck uridium hunting!

Repair and the ship repair bot

It’s pretty important to know how to repair your ship when it gets damaged. You repair it by using a repair bot and can do so as long as it’s not completely destroyed. Look under extras in the hangar for the repair bot.

The repair bot can be used unlimited times, you just activate it by clicking the repair button under extrassection. It takes a little while, and if you are attacked when it happens the repair will cancel. Make sure you look at your HP all the time, cause if it reaches 0 you are completely destroyed and you are stuck in space. Then you have to either buy a new ship or repair your current ship for 500 uridium.

To rise to the top and beat the best players in PVP you really need to get yourself the best equipment out there. This is a list of ship equipment you can get in Dark Orbit, it doesn’t cover weapons or CPU, you can find that in other posts here.

Shields.
SG3N-A01 – 1000 shield strength, absorbs 40% damage.
SG3N-A02 – 2000 shield strength, absorbs 50% damage.
SG3N-B01 – 4000 shield strength, absorbs 70% damage.
SG3N-A03 – 5000 shield strength, absorbs 60% damage.

Bonuses and mulitpliers

There are many types of bonuses and multipliers in Dark Orbit, and knowing how to get the most out of them is very usefull. You use these bonuses or multipliers when you go to the bank to buy for example uridium. I not a big buyer of anything in the bank really, I prefer to get the items in the game, but whenever I choose to buy from the bank I make sure I’m using a good multiplier.

The most well known of these bonuses is probably the happy hour. That is a special time period when you get double the normal amount when you buy something in the shop. The happy hours are announced on the logon splash screen, and it lasts like the name indicate for one hour. There is also the mega happy hour when you get 3x the amount when you buy something in the shop.

Another type of multiplier jo can get is the banking bonus. These are usually obtained during special events during Christmas and Easter, as well as other times during the year. These come in three different types, 2x, 3x and 4x bonuses. You can only have one of these at any given time, and you can only use it one time. You know that you have gotten one of these bonuses when the banking message flashes in the top left corner of your flight screen. Happy bonus hunting!

Weapons

This is just a list of the different weapons you can buy in game. The better the weapons the more expensive they are obviously, and for the elite equipment you have to pay with uridium. Uridium can be bought with real money, or you can buy it with in game credits in auctions.

Lasers.
LF1 – max 40 damage.
MP1 – max 60 damage.
LF2 – max 100 damage.
