One time every month there is a Jackpot Battle in browser game Dark Orbit. Every person may join this battle if they are online at the time. This battle is a fight to death and the last spacecraft left still flying is the winning. So what does the player win? He doesn’t win money in the game but he actually wins real cash! Pretty awesome I think that you can actually win real money playing a game like Dark Orbit. He wins the same amount of real cash as he has accumulated of Jackpot dollars in the game. I think the first ship you should start out buying is Venegance. It’s a pretty cheap ship but still a pretty good one. Also in the beginning it’s a good idea to do a lot of quests. This is more rewarding and also much more fun than just gathering raw materials in my opinioin. Gathering materials is ok too, but I prefer the quest route.
Start out with doing the best paying quests. You’ll need money to join a good clan as soon as possible. Keep doing the newest quests and level up. At level five or six there is a decent chance you’ll be invited into a clan. Some clans are really nice and help you with cash for an even better ship. Good luck.
This is a really cool video I found on youtube showing a groupd of players fighting the NPC boss cubicon. It’s really well made, with some cool effects so you should definately take a look.
Starting out in DarkOrbit I’d suggest focusing on making money the first couple of hours by destroying enemies. You want to earn credits in the beginning and spend all that you make on missiles and ammunition. Just buy a lot of it in the beginning so that you don’t have to worry about running out of this for a long time.
Also make sure your honor don’t go into negative. If you don’t know much about honor yet check out the post here on this site about honor. Basically if your honor goes into negative you won’t earn as much money for selling raw materials to your spacestation, which is not a good thing obviously. Read the rest of this entry »
There are many types of bonuses and multipliers in Dark Orbit, and knowing how to get the most out of them is very usefull. You use these bonuses or multipliers when you go to the bank to buy for example uridium. I not a big buyer of anything in the bank really, I prefer to get the items in the game, but whenever I choose to buy from the bank I make sure I’m using a good multiplier. To rise to the top and beat the best players in PVP you really need to get yourself the best equipment out there. This is a list of ship equipment you can get in Dark Orbit, it doesn’t cover weapons or CPU, you can find that in other posts here.
This is just a list of the different weapons you can buy in game. The better the weapons the more expensive they are obviously, and for the elite equipment you have to pay with uridium. Uridium can be bought with real money, or you can buy it with in game credits in auctions.

To join a Clan in Dark Orbit you have to have 50,000 credits for one, so if you’re broke, no clan for you. Getting the 50,000 credits isn’t really a problem though, it’s pretty easy to get, so there are other things to consider when you decide if you want to join a clan or not. If you’re an experienced player, you should probably wait till you find the type of clan that you’re looking for, since you already know the game well and probably won’t have much to learn from joining a clan right away. This post is more for new players though. Read the rest of this entry »
In addition to levels in Dark Orbit there is also something called ranking. The ranks go from general all the way down to basic space pilot. There is only one general for each company in the game, so getting that rank is extremely possible. To get any of the top ranks in the game you have to be a really active player and highly skilled as well. It is also an advantage to be a member of an elite alliance of course. Here is the list of the different ranks and how many percentage of players get each rank. Read the rest of this entry »
